"The magazine Forbes has announced the list of highest-earning athletes, in which footballers took three out of the top five positions. The most profitable year was for Barcelona's representative Lionel Messi, who earned 111 million dollars (more than 94 million euros) and ranked second in terms of athletes' earnings. Just a couple of million dollars less, Real's Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo received 108 million dollars (almost 92 million euros). The top five also included Neymar, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain and earned 90 million dollars (more than 76 million euros). The boxer Floyd Mayweather was unsurpassed in terms of earnings among all athletes, receiving a whopping 285 million dollars (almost 242 million euros)."
