B.Floro: "Diarra is not needed by us" © EuroFootball.com

The sports director of Madrid, Benito Floro, stated that the club does not intend to acquire the currently represented midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.

The 24-year-old player from the Mali national team, who helped his club win the fifth consecutive French championship title this season, has been attracting interest from top European clubs for some time. Currently, the most active player showing interest is the English team "Manchester United," which has been trying to negotiate with "Lyon."

It is believed that Diarra could partially replace Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has expressed intentions to leave the team, if he were to join Manchester United. There is also a possibility that the Dutchman could be transferred to "Lyon" as part of the deal.

The player is also of interest to London's "Chelsea" team, but in Benito Floro's opinion, Diarra is not the level of player needed for a team aspiring to achieve great victories.

"Diarra is indeed a good player," Floro told the Spanish newspaper "Marca." "But he is not as good as our own Sergio Ramos or Javi Garcia, so our club is not willing to spend money on him."

If Diarra does not move to Manchester United, the English club would try to acquire another representative from "Ligue 1," such as Jean Makoun from the "Lille" team.
