The team's official website reported that defender Michael Salgado has extended his contract with the club for another year. According to the new contract, the 35-year-old former Spanish national team footballer has committed to stay with the English team until June 30, 2012. The former Real Madrid right-back joined the team at Ewood Park stadium in August 2009 and scored one goal in 50 matches played.
