"Juventus" from Turin received penalties after financial manipulations.
"Sky Sport Italia" announces that the Turin club will have 15 points deducted this season. This decision was made by the Italian Federation of Football, working on the "Serie A" championships.
After this penalty, the "old lady" should be in 10th place in the Italian championships, behind clubs like "Fiorentina", "Torino", and "Udinese".
Until now, "Juventus" held the third place after a fairly successful period. Now teams like "Roma", "Atalanta", or "Lazio" have better chances to fight for a spot in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, the most realistic chance for the "Juventus" team to enter the Champions League may be through the Europa League.
However, the club can still appeal the decision.
In late November, Pavel Nedved and Andrea Agnelli resigned, as they are suspected of falsifying the club's financial data. Federico Cherubini and Fabio Paratici also face suspicions.
