The Scottish national team will face off against the world vice-champions Croatia in a crucial match in Group D of the European Football Championship on Tuesday. A victory for the Scots would practically guarantee them a spot in the quarterfinals, however, some not so good news reached the team before the decisive match. On Monday, it was announced that Billy Gilmour, who was named the best player in the match against England, tested positive for coronavirus and will miss the crucial match. B. Gilmour will have to spend 10 days in self-isolation.
We can confirm that Billy Gilmour has tested positive for COVID-19. Having liaised with Public Health England, Billy will now self-isolate for 10 days and therefore miss tomorrow’s UEFA EURO 2020 Group D match against Croatia at Hampden. https://t.co/lRNWvckqCK — Scotland National Team (@ScotlandNT) June 21, 2021
