76‘ [0 - 2] Theofanis Gekas

The spectators gathered in Hannover did not have to wait long for a goal. In the 4th minute, "Bochum" defender Pavel Drsek, after a pass from Dennis Grote, sent the ball past "Hannover" goalkeeper Roberto Enke. The guests had one more chance in the match as Oliver Schroder lifted the ball into the penalty area, and the ball found Fabio Junior's head, but his shot was saved by R.Enke.

Just before the end of the first half, R.Enke had to save his goal once again by deflecting a long shot from Theofanis Gekas. In the 43rd minute, "Hannover" created their first chance when Michael Tarnat's shot went over the goal. However, a minute later the hosts almost equalized when striker Jiri Stajner tricked "Bochum" goalkeeper Alexander Bade and sent the ball towards the goal, but P.Drsek, the scorer of the first goal, cleared the ball from the goal line.

In the second half, both teams demonstrated great defense and did not allow the opponents to create dangerous attacks. However, in the 76th minute, "Hannover" goalkeeper R.Enke saved another long shot but failed to hold onto the ball, and the first "Bochum" attacker T.Gekas sent the ball into the empty net. Towards the end of the match, the same T.Gekas attempted a shot from distance, but the ball landed way off target.

After this victory, the "Bochum" footballers exchanged places with "Hannover" in the standings: "Hannover" now occupies the last place, while "Bochum" jumps to 16th.
