Dortmund and Madrid have halted negotiations for Czech Tomas Rosicky's move to the Spanish capital club.
For some time it seemed that the Czech wanting to leave Germany would move to Spain during the winter transfer window, but at the last moment the negotiations collapsed as the clubs did not agree on the transfer fee.
It is reported that the German club was willing to sell T. Rosicky during the winter break for only 13 million euros, while "Atletico" was ready to offer only 9.5 million euros.
"It turned out as I expected," said one of the "Borussia" officials Hans-Joachim Watzke. "Atletico" general manager Miguel Angel Gil did not contact us anymore, so Tomas will stay in Dortmund."
It is said that this news saddened the Czech national team midfielder, who hoped to leave Germany, but now it seems he will have to stay in Dortmund at least until summer.
"What can I do when two clubs cannot agree? I have a contract," commented T. Rosicky on the interrupted negotiations.
