On a late Tuesday evening in Germany, two country cup ("DFB Pokal") quarterfinal matches were played.
In Dortmund, "Borussia" faced off against "Hoffenheim" in their home arena. After 90 minutes, both teams were tied, and it was only after extra time that the "yellow-blacks" managed to secure a victory with a score of 3-2.
In the 19th minute, Neven Subotic put Dortmund ahead, but by the 28th minute, "Hoffenheim" managed to turn the score in their favor - 1:2.
However, in the 57th minute, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the equalizer, leading to extra time. Amidst the battle, in the 108th minute, "Borussia" captain Sebastian Kehl scored the goal that guaranteed the victory for the German vice-champions and their place in the semifinals.
In the other match, the players of "Wolfsburg" secured a narrow victory and advanced to the semifinals of the German cup, eliminating the "Freiburg" club from the title race.
