On Tuesday, two UEFA Champions League round of 16 matches were played in Europe.
In Russia, the first meeting took place. St. Petersburg's "Zenit" couldn't resist against last season's finalist, Dortmund's "Borussia", in front of their own fans.
In a highly productive match, the "yellow-blacks" first broke through when Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marco Reus scored in the 4th and 5th minutes.
In the second half, the hosts managed to soften the result, but once again, the two-goal advantage over the opponents was gained by the German vice-champions after Robert Lewandowski's goal.
In the 69th minute, hope to at least equalize was revived by Hulk's goal and the Brazilian scored a penalty from the 11-meter mark. "Borussia" didn't need to wait long for a response and R. Lewandowski once again defeated the Russian goalkeeper.
In other matches, somewhat surprisingly, Piraeus' "Olympiacos" defeated the English champions 2-0.
The goals were scored in the 38th and 55th minutes. Alejandro Dominguez scored the first goal, while Joel Campbell sealed the final score.
