Dortmund's "Borussia" managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke agreed to comment on the rumors about the departure of the team's star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 26-year-old striker has shown incredible form this season and has scored 24 goals in 23 matches. This has sparked interest from London's "Arsenal," which, according to various reports, is willing to pay £42 million.
BvB's manager says that the club would not be doomed without the Gabonese national team forward, but he is also convinced that they can keep their key players.
"To think that 'Borussia' is dependent on one player would be mistaken. We are not dependent on anyone," Watzke told Bild.
"When Robert Lewandowski left, we found a suitable solution, and he now even has three more goals."
"Now we are in such a good position that we could find such a solution again."
"The team's goal is to stay together. We don't have as much money as the 'Premier' league giants, but we can offer many other things - for example, our players could spend Christmas together."
Watzke also suggested recalling situations where the transfers to major European clubs were repeatedly associated with Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan, but they are still BvB members.
