The ninth season defending the honor of Borussia Dortmund club Mats Hummels attracted the anger of club fans when allegedly asked to be sold to Bayern Munich.
Last week, the Dortmund team released an official statement claiming that the 27-year-old center-back had requested to be sold to the Bavarians. However, the German is not willing to agree with these statements from the current club and stated that the reports are "complete nonsense."
"I have never offered my services to anyone. This is the biggest nonsense I have ever heard," - said the defender after the victory against Wolfsburg.
Bayern's sports director also stated that M. Hummels has never contacted them regarding a possible arrival.
"Maybe Uli (Former Bayern executive - ed. note) misunderstood us. We knocked on their door, not Hummels knocking on ours. Mats hasn't told us anything yet, but he has been given time to think whether he could imagine himself at Bayern," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
Although M. Hummels himself is not certain about his future, BVB fans have already hinted that the team captain is no longer welcome here: "The captain is leaving the ship. The sooner, the better."
