Dortmund's "Borussia" general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke says that Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze were not the only players that Bayern Munich tried to sign from the "yellow-blacks".
The current German champions acquired M. Gotze from "Borussia" in 2013, and in the summer of 2014 they added R. Lewandowski, who had led the Dortmund team to many victories.
H-J. Watzke confirmed that "Bayern" wanted to sign even more of their players, but they have not succeeded in doing so yet. The "Borussia" general manager stated that the Bavarians have been trying to destroy them since 2012.
"Bayern" "tore us apart" when they acquired Lewandowski and Gotze. They were very important players in our team," said the German. "But they were not the only players that Bayern wanted to sign.
"The Bavarians wanted to destroy us in 2012, when we triumphed in the Bundesliga for two consecutive years. We became a serious threat to the Bayern club, because we have many fans and people who sympathize with the BVB team," added H-J. Watzke.
It is believed that earlier "Bayern" has tried to lure Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan from "Borussia".
