Dortmund rejected a €16 million offer for the security of Shinji Kagawa.
The English vice champions, who are looking for reinforcement in the middle of the field, have been monitoring the 23-year-old Japanese national team security for a long time. Coach Sir Alex Ferguson even traveled to Dortmund to watch the German Cup final between Borussia and Bayern Munich.
So far, the clubs have not been able to reach an agreement, as the German champions would like to receive €20 million for Kagawa, who will become a free agent next year. Interestingly, just two years ago, he was purchased from Osaka's "Cerezo" team for just over 300 thousand euros.
It is rumored that "Man City" and London's "Chelsea" are also interested in him. It is almost certain that the transfer will take place, as even Borussia's coach Jurgen Klopp has said: "We cannot ignore Shinji's childhood and Japanese culture. In this country, the Bundesliga is nothing, and the English Premier League is everything."
Last season, he scored 13 goals in 31 matches in the German league.
