The team of Borussia Dortmund decided to revoke Gerhard Schroder's honorary membership. The Bundesliga club announced that this was due to the former German Chancellor's close ties with Russia, which sparked the war in Ukraine. "Such duties are unacceptable when holding leading positions in Russian state-owned enterprises and considering Russia's war in Ukraine and the violation of relevant international law," the statement reads. "Currently, Schroder, among other things, is the chairman of the supervisory board of the Russian oil company Rosneft," - the statement continues.
