Today was played the final of the German Cup, where Frankfurt's "Eintracht" fought against Dortmund's "Borussia". The latter team was undoubtedly considered the favorite, but the decisive tournament match brought a lot of battle. Ousmane Dembele from "Borussia" scoring in the eighth minute already, it seemed like everything would end easily with Thomas Tuchel's team. However, the players of "Eintracht" were not ready to surrender. BvB controlled the ball longer, but the opponents were able to equalize the score in the middle of the first half while looking for opportunities in counterattacks, when Ante Rebić scored. Furthermore, in the 39th minute, the tremor in "Borussia" goalposts came from Haris Seferović's strike. After the break, Tuchel had to make two substitutions, and one of the leaders Marco Reus had to leave the field due to injury, so things were definitely not looking good for the Dortmund club. Then the other "Borussia" players had to step up, and the one who replaced Reus, Christian Pulisic, did just that, provoking a mistake from Lucas Hradecky in the penalty area. After this episode, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang successfully converted the penalty, and as it turned out later, this was the winning goal, as the match result did not change anymore. So, "Borussia" maintained the lead and won their fourth "DFB Pokal" title. Interestingly, with this result, the winners are now tied with the "Eintracht" club, who last triumphed in 1988.
