Brazil secures a spot in the World Championship for the first time

Showing excellent form in the South American qualifiers tournament, the Brazilian national team became the first to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Not losing in 13 consecutive matches, Tite's players secured their path with a convincing 3-0 victory against Paraguay.

Brazil will join the host nation Russia in the championship - so far only two teams are certain to play in the prestigious tournament.

Former world champions in the CONMEBOL group started with a defeat against Chile, but collected 33 points in the remaining matches and confidently lead ahead of the other teams (10 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss).

Three teams from the South American group will directly qualify, while the fifth will play in the qualifying matches against Oceania representatives.
