At 9 pm in Rostov, the second round of Group E matches were played. Brazil failed to start the tournament with a victory - the five-time world champions drew 1-1 with Switzerland.
The Brazilians started the match more actively and in the 10th minute were close to the first goal, when Paulinho shot from a few meters away from the goal.
In the 20th minute, the first goal fell into the Swiss net - an amazing goal from about 20 meters was scored by Barcelona goalkeeper Philippe Coutinho, leaving no chance for the opponents' goalkeeper.
After the missed goal, Switzerland slightly increased their game in the opponents' half, but Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson did not have any difficulties.
At the end of the first half, the Brazilians were close to the second goal - after a corner, Thiago shot just next to the crossbar. However, the ball did not find the net and the result after the first 45 minutes remained 1-0.
The second half started unexpectedly for the Brazilians - Steven Zuber scored a great header after a corner in the 50th minute, making the score 1-1.
Unexpectedly conceding a goal, the Brazilian players tried to create pressure on the opponents' goal, but there were no dangerous opportunities in the first few attacks.
The Brazilian attacks intensified and Switzerland increasingly had to defend near their own goal. Coutinho and Neymar had a couple of threatening shots, but the ball did not find the net.
In the 87th minute, Neymar created the first serious opportunity in the match - the PSG star struck a dangerous header after a pass from Willian. Neymar shot towards the center of the goal, so the goalkeeper confidently dealt with his tasks.
Soon after, a more dangerous situation occurred after a set-piece as Roberto Firmino struck a header, but the Swiss goalkeeper also performed impeccably.
Just moments later, center-back Miranda created another extremely dangerous opportunity. He found free space in the opponents' penalty area and was just a few centimeters away from a precise shot.
In the remaining time, the Brazilians failed to save the day and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
