Brazilian national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari sent a message of consolation to Portuguese footballers when they lost 0:4 to the German national team.
"I reminded my friends that when I was coaching at the 2004 European Championship, we also lost our first game, but then we made it to the final," said the Brazilian. "Only by talking like this can I inspire them.
Now they have to regroup and try to win the next match, and then another, to move on to the next stage. We were also defeated at home, but we managed to bounce back. This scenario can repeat itself, and this Portuguese national team can definitely do it."
L.F. Scolari coached the Portuguese team after winning the 2002 World Cup with the Brazilian national team. He worked as the coach of the Portuguese national team from 2003 to 2008.
