The general director of the highest German football league, Christian Seifert, revealed that the championships could resume on May 9th, but it requires approval from the government. "We are ready to restart 'Bundesliga' matches from May 9th or later, when permitted by the government. At the moment, we cannot give an exact date. The fact that we are considering resuming matches shows how well the German government is dealing with this crisis. However, it would be too risky to talk about a specific date at the moment," said C. Seifert speaking to the media. Currently, more than 151 thousand people in Germany have contracted COVID-19, and the disease has claimed more than 5 thousand lives.
