Just one step away from the "Bundesliga" trophy last season, Dortmund's "Borussia" extended the contract with head coach Lucien Favre.
The 61-year-old Swiss coach's new contract with the German club will be valid until the summer of 2021. The old coach's contract was valid until 2020.
"I am happy to have the opportunity to contribute even more to the future of this club with great traditions," said L. Favre after signing the contract.
The Swiss took over BVB last summer and came very close to triumph in the "Bundesliga" championship, reaching the quarterfinals in the Champions League.
