Madridthe “Real” coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed that when he was coaching “Paris Saint-Germain”, he was close to acquiring Mario Balotelli.
Before his second season at the club, the Italian wanted to strengthen the team with a well-known striker and considered Balotelli as a possible candidate.
However, the coach decided to abandon these plans and instead chose Zlatan Ibrahimović.
“Would I want to acquire Balotelli? To tell you the truth, once when I was coaching “Paris Saint-Germain”, I tried to do it,” the coach told La Repubblica.
“He greatly impressed in the 2012 European Championship.”
“But then the opportunity to buy Ibrahimović arose. We decided to make a safer decision.”
In January 2013, Balotelli moved from “Manchester City” to “Milan”, and this summer he joined “Liverpool” after leaving Italy.
The striker has so far had unsuccessful matches in England, but the “Real” coach has no doubt that the player will eventually succeed.
