C. Ancelotti: if "Manchester United" had approached me earlier, I would have come to work with them

Carlo Ancelotti revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson had offered him the job of becoming the manager of Manchester United in 2013, but because he was already in negotiations with Real Madrid team, he had to decline this offer.

Ancelotti, who won the Champions League three times, returned to the coaching role in the following season, replacing Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich. After being dismissed by Real Madrid at the end of the previous season, the Italian spent a season without a job.

However, the strategist revealed that he could have not worked at Real Madrid if Manchester United had offered him the job of coaching this team earlier. Ancelotti shared that Ferguson had invited him for lunch in Paris, during which they discussed the possibility of him taking over at United's helm. The coach emphasized that if he had not started negotiations with the Real Madrid team before, he would have chosen to work in Manchester without hesitation.

"It was a beautiful lunch. Alex chose a very expensive wine. But at that time, I was already in negotiations with Real Madrid. Due to his experience, a coach must go to Madrid. If negotiations with this team had not started, I would have agreed to come here one hundred percent," Ancelotti told The Times.

Ferguson was replaced by David Moyes in the United coaching position, who was not at the helm of the team for the entire 2013-2014 season, and he was later replaced in that position by Louis van Gaal, whose dismissal now raises many questions. However, Ancelotti is convinced that all World coaches sooner or later face the situation of being dismissed.

"I won the double with Chelsea - I was fired. I won 'La Decima' with Real - I was fired. There is not a single coach who has never been fired in his career. Ferguson was fired, [Marcelo] Lippi was fired, [Fabio] Capello was fired, [Jose] Mourinho was fired, as was [Rafael] Benitez. The only one who has never been fired yet is Guardiola, but he is still relatively young. One day he will join our club - the club of the fired," Ancelotti said.

The 56-year-old Italian will join the Bayern team this summer.
