C. Ancelotti: Mourinho had problems with players

Carlo Ancelotti admitted that there was a significant difference in the atmosphere of the dressing room when he took over as coach from former strategist Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.

The press constantly flashed information that the Portuguese did not get along with some of the starting eleven players, including an incident between him and Sergio Ramos during training and public disputes with captain Iker Casillas.

Ancelotti has now revealed that, although there were troubles during Mourinho's coaching years, the Italian found peace upon arriving at the team.

"Before I arrived in Madrid, I was informed about major problems in the team's dressing room. There were disagreements between some players and Mourinho," the current club coach told So Foot.

"Everything that happened behind the scenes made it to the newspapers the next day. But when I took over as coach, things settled down. I did not inherit the tension."

"Was I responsible for bringing peace back to the dressing room? No. When I arrived, peace had already been restored."

"From the very beginning, there were no disagreements in the dressing room. I never had unmotivated players. I also did not hear any discontent from those who played less than they would have liked."
