BBC announces that "Liverpool" has acquired "Aston Villa" forward Christian Benteke. Liverpool agreed to pay £32.5 million (€46 million) buyout fee for the 24-year-old forward.
At the moment, the team is participating in a tournament in Australia, but the footballer will not join the team. Just a few days ago, the "Reds" received a whopping €71 million from "Manchester City" for the young Raheem Sterling.
C.Benteke was the main target of coach Brendan Rodgers, despite Liverpool's already abundant forwards. The team has Daniel Sturridge and Mario Balotelli playing here since last year, another Belgian Divoick Origi returned from loan to the team, and this summer they also acquired Danny Ings from "Burnley".
In addition, during this transfer window, attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino also arrived from "Hoffenheim", who can also play in the attacking line.
It is speculated that with the acquisition of C.Benteke, Liverpool will look for a buyer for M.Balotelli. Another option is to loan out D.Origi again if he does not seem to have reached the Liverpool level yet.
In the last Premier League season, C.Benteke scored 13 goals in 28 matches. In total, the Belgian, who has been playing for Aston Villa since 2012, has scored 49 times in 100 matches.
