Former French national team striker Christophe Dugarry was not impressed with Atletico Madrid's victory in the UEFA Champions League.
Atletico defeated Juventus 2-0 in the first leg of the quarter-finals. The match had everything - a bit of exaggerated player emotions, unusual gestures from Simeone, and many other things unrelated to the game itself.
Dugarry, who previously wore the jerseys of Milan, Barcelona, and other clubs, said he was ashamed to watch such a match.
"In the first half, I didn't see anything tactical, just players attacking the referee as if they were angry birds. It was disgraceful and awful," said the Frenchman about the first half of Atletico's match.
"The stands were calling for Ronaldo's death from the stadium, and Simeone grabbed his genitals after the goal. In my opinion, all boundaries were crossed in these matches.
It's not war, it's football. Having your own style of play is good, but I felt that this team crossed all norms of behavior," Dugarry said on the RMC radio show.
