Having passed through the Dutch football school, Christian Eriksen was not satisfied with his team's performance in the first UEFA Champions League semi-final match.
Representing Denmark, London's "Tottenham" fell 0:1 at home against Amsterdam's "Ajax." According to C. Eriksen, they themselves allowed "Ajax" players to play better than usual.
"We played worse than we expected. We failed to impose our conditions completely," - said the midfielder to BT Sport. - "In the first 20 minutes, we were just spectators. We need to change that in the next games".
"Due to our poor play, they looked better than they really are. There is no doubt that "Ajax" is a great team, but we helped them. At the beginning of the match, they felt that they could control the game.
At the beginning of the match, the game system has no influence. Certain changes in midfield allowed us to take control of the ball, but we were still far from our true level.
None of us wanted to play such a first half. We simply were not competitive enough," - Eriksen did not hide his disappointment.
