Chelsea's defender Cesc Fabregas believes that in today's football, talent is no longer as important and physically strong players play the main role in teams.
No one doubts the abilities of the Spaniard - he was important for both Arsenal and Barcelona in the past, and now is a member of Chelsea, but recently lost his place in the starting lineup of the "aristocrats".
Instead of him, the midfield duo of Nemanja Matic and N'Golo Kante play for the London team, primarily known for their defense.
"Today, it's harder for talented footballers to break through," Fabregas told Chelsea TV.
"I don't think my physical strength is the best - I'm not the fastest, strongest, or most agile, so if a player like me wants to be a successful footballer, they need to be at the forefront in terms of the game itself."
"To be a footballer today... If you are very strong or run a lot or do similar things, it's easier. That's why I strive to become even better, because football is evolving in a direction that, I believe, it didn't evolve in before."
"Every day we see less talent, more strength, and players running around."
Fabregas contributed to the team's victories this season with four goals and seven assists in 20 matches played.
