The defender of the Turin club Ciro Ferrara has announced the end of his professional football career after this season. The 38-year-old veteran plans to hold a farewell match between his friends and the clubs "Napoli" and "Juventus" on June 9, where Z.Zidane and D.Maradona are supposed to play as well.
Throughout his 21-year career, Ciro Ferrara was known for his incredible loyalty - the Italian played only for two teams. After spending 10 years at "Napoli," he moved to Turin and represented this team for another 11 years. With the Turin club, he won 7 Italian championships, triumphed twice in the Italian cup competitions, won the Italian super cup five times, and also lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy, a continental cup, and the UEFA Super Cup once.
The farewell match will be played at the "San Paolo" stadium, where C.Ferrara started his career. He will play one half of the match in the "Napoli" team and the other half representing Turin's "Juventus." Z.Zidane has already promised to attend the match, but it remains to be seen if D.Maradona will also play a role.
