C. Fuchsas: we didn't contribute to Ranieri's dismissal

Christian Fuchs denied rumors that the Leicester City players demanded the dismissal of coach Claudio Ranieri.

The Italian lost his job in February - just nine months after the "Foxes" lifted the Premier League trophy.

The decision was made because the team was not performing well and was not fighting for the title, but for survival in the top division.

"It's completely made up," Fuchs told 11Freunde magazine. "I can assure you that there was no meeting of players and owners before his dismissal."

"Of course, owners were talking to us after the matches, but decisions of that level they make themselves. They are businessmen, running big companies, they know what they're doing."

"After everything, he (Ranieri) came to the training ground, shook hands with everyone and wished us luck for the rest of the season."

"It may sound brief, but let me tell you that in my 16 years as a professional footballer I had 15 different coaches. I am very grateful to Ranieri for his trust in me, but regardless, players have to accept the decisions of the owners."

Under the guidance of Craig Shakespeare, Leicester somewhat improved. Currently, they are six points clear of the relegation zone in the Premier League, and in the UEFA Champions League, they reached the quarterfinals.
