Dortmund's "Borussia" striker Ciro Immobile says he will prove Lothar Matthaus wrong by scoring goals.
Matthaus recently questioned the German club's decision to spend a large sum to attract the Italian national team player and another striker, Adriana Ramos, because, in his opinion, neither is as capable as Robert Lewandowski.
Nevertheless, Immobile disagrees with the comments of the Bayern Munich legend and says he is ready to prove his worth.
"Matthaus is a German legend and can say whatever he wants," the Italian told Bild.
"When I start scoring goals regularly, the problem will automatically be resolved."
So far, Immobile has only managed to score twice in eight Bundesliga matches, but he has already managed to defeat opponents' goalkeepers three times in the UEFA Champions League.
The BVB sniper says that after a successful start in the strongest European tournament, he wants to shine in national competitions as well. This weekend, his team will compete against "Monchengladbach".
