"Southampton" strategist Claude Puel insists that Virgil van Dijk, who is rumored to leave, will not leave the team this winter.
The highly performing center-back is of interest to "Manchester City", "Manchester United", "Liverpool" and "Paris Saint-Germain".
However, the coach does not want to let him go and it is believed that he will not be sold for less than 50 million pounds sterling.
"Speaking about Virgil, his price will be the same in two or three years, so he can stay with us for two or three years," Puel said.
"He is important for us, a team player with a good spirit.
"For me, along with Jose Fonte and Steven Davis, he is the team captain because he is a great personality, has a strong character, and is a good player."
"He is an important player and, of course, will stay with us."
Van Dijk's current contract with the "Saints" is valid until 2022.
