"El Mundo Deportivo," a newspaper allowed in Catalonia, reports that "Barcelona" captain Carles Puyol has already received several very tempting and financially lucrative offers from abroad.
It is stated that the 34-year-old footballer has attracted interest from a team in the United Arab Emirates and two clubs from Russia.
According to the publication, C. Puyol rejected all the offers received and stated that he does not intend to leave "Barcelona."
This season, the captain of the Catalonia club could not avoid injuries, and towards the end, he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery. Due to health problems, the defender will miss the start of the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine on June 8.
According to "El Mundo Deportivo," financially attractive offers were presented to the experienced defender from wealthy Russia and the United Arab Emirates, but the solid salary did not tempt C. Puyol. The defender politely rejected the offers and once again reminded that he would like to finish his professional career at "Barcelona."
