Former "Barcelona" captain Carles Puyol insists that Pep Guardiola, who is currently at the helm of "Manchester City," has faced the most serious challenge of his career so far.
The defender spent four seasons in the team led by this coach, during which he won the "La Liga" three times and triumphed in the UEFA Champions League twice.
After a few years in the ranks of Munich's "Bayern," the strategist has now moved to England, where, according to Puyol, changing the prevailing style of play will not be easy for him.
"This is Guardiola's biggest challenge and I think he will change English football," said the former player.
"Many say that football in England is different from everywhere else, but Guardiola's methods and pressure on players will change it slightly."
"His biggest challenge is to change the direct style. Now in England, the game is more direct, central defenders are tall. I couldn't play there because I'm too small."
"Man City" currently occupies the first place in the "Premier" league.
