C. Ranieri about R. Mahrez's double: Champions League music woke him up

The head coach of "Leicester City" Claudio Ranieri remained satisfied after a successful start to the UEFA Champions League tournament and praised the performance of last season's leader Riyad Mahrez.

The best player of the 2015-16 English Premier League, R. Mahrez, has not been showing good athletic form in the country's championships this season, but yesterday he contributed with a double to the "Foxes" victory of 3-0 against "Club Brugge".

During a press conference, C. Ranieri jokingly said that the UEFA Champions League anthem played before the match gave R. Mahrez some extra motivation.

"Maybe the Champions League music woke him up," Ranieri commented on Mahrez's two goals. "Perhaps he was very tired of the 'dilly-ding dilly-dong' music, preferring the Champions League melody instead."

"But this is good news because he scored two goals and it should help him in the future. I liked his performance today - he was aggressive on the edges and put in a lot of effort," the coach concluded.
