C. Ranieri: Donnarumma doesn't hold on to money

Claudio Ranieri insists that money is not the first priority for Gianluigi Donnarumma, and believes that a move to Real Madrid would only showcase his ambitions.

The talented goalkeeper recently deleted his Instagram account due to a post speculating that negotiations for a new contract with Milan would still take place.

Although the 18-year-old clarified that someone hacked into his account to write that, there are still expectations of new talks about his future within the Rossoneri ranks.

Donnarumma's current contract with Milan runs until 2018, and according to reports, Real Madrid is willing to pay 50 million euros for him.

"I am with Donnarumma and Raiola," Ranieri told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"This has nothing to do with money, and talking about betrayal is absurd."

"The most important thing in this issue is that the player would only extend his contract if he believes in the new project presented by the new Milan owners."

"Raiola has long said that a talent like Donnarumma deserves to be part of a big team. Is Milan on the same level as the five or six strongest European teams?"

"This is not about money, as the Rossoneri's offer is excellent. It's a matter of ambition, a professional career path."

"If Donnarumma moved to Real Madrid, in the next 10 years he would probably win two or three Champions Leagues, right?"

"It's normal to doubt, but they accuse him of being a traitor. If he stays, it will be an incredible proof of love for the Rossoneri world."

Donnarumma played all 38 matches in Serie A last season.
