C. Ranieri: if R. Mahrez comes and says he wants to leave - I won't stand in the way

The head coach of "Leicester City" Claudio Ranieri states that he does not intend to persuade his team leader Riyad Mahrez to stay in the team after the season if he himself does not want to.

This season, the 25-year-old Algerian, who demonstrates excellent results, attracted the attention of a bunch of European clubs. In the English Premier League, the winger scored 14 goals and made nine assists in 25 matches.

"Leicester" with R. Mahrez at the helm occupies the first place in the English top division and has a 2-point advantage, but C. Ranieri is not sure if he can keep the player and triumph in the Premier League.

"We want to keep all of our players because we believe in them," - said the strategist. - However, if the player comes to me and says he wants to leave and that is his goal, I will say to him: "Good luck, go and enjoy it".

"I want players in this team who are happy. Sooner or later, we will grow as a club and have a great team, but of course, not as great as Barcelona or Real Madrid."

"If I were Mahrez, I would tell myself that there are many teams that want me, so I have to show even more on the field. Every time I try to play as well as possible, because only then will they buy me," - finished C. Ranieri.
