The head coach of "Leicester City" Claudio Ranieri confirmed that London's "Arsenal" has made an official offer for forward Jamie Vardy, but the final decision was not made by the player himself.
For several weeks, there were rumors in the media that the 29-year-old footballer was leaving the Leicester team. According to reports, the "Gunners" agreed to pay the £20 million buyout clause specified in the striker's contract.
The "Leicester" club has almost no say in this deal, so everything depends solely on J. Vardy.
"We want to keep him, but Arsenal has indicated that they will pay the full buyout amount specified in the contract. So far, he has not accepted this offer," - C. Ranieri was quoted by "Sky Sports Italia."
"His word will be final," added the "Foxes" coach who finished at the top of the English "Premier" league last season.
The English national team forward played 38 matches last season and scored 24 goals.
