„Leicester City“ coach Claudio Ranieri is determined to continue taking risks in order for the team to try to compete for the „Premier“ league title.
The Italian made a risky decision when he replaced defender Daniel Amartey with striker Leonardo Ulloa in the match against „Norwich“, where the „foxes“ were in danger of losing two points. Ulloa scored a goal at the end of the match, and Ranieri's decision was rewarded with a victory.
After these matches, „Leicester City“ maintained a two-point lead over the pursuing „Tottenham Hotspur“ club, and Ranieri believes that as the season nears its end, he will continue to have to make risky decisions.
„I took a lot of risks in the match against „Norwich“. I told the team: „Whether we score or miss - it doesn't matter to me. One point is worth nothing, we have to win.“ You can lose, but you'll get just one point less than if you played a draw. Coaches are hired for that - to take risks.“
„I think there will be more and more such matches in the future, and teams are more and more coming to play against us with five defenders. Such matches are not easy, and every game becomes a tough battle. You can experience a loss in every match. Our main task is to stay focused and be ready for every game,“ Ranieri said.
„Leicester City“ will play against „West Brom“, „Watford“, „Newcastle“ and „Crystal Palace“ clubs in March and will try to maintain their lead against „Arsenal“ and „Tottenham“ teams. However, Ranieri continues to remain himself when talking about his players' chances of winning the „Premier“ league.
„I understand that everyone asks me if we will win the title. I just don't know. Let us play the next four matches and then I can answer the question with something more. I won't be able to talk more about this question until the end of the season,“ revealed Ranieri.
