The Executive Director P.Kenyon decided to put an end to the passions regarding the future of team coach C.Ranieri as the Champions League quarterfinal approaches.

The future of the Italian coach was loudly commented on Sunday when several newspapers announced that Ranieri would be fired in the summer, regardless of how this season ends for Chelsea - successfully or not.

C.Ranieri asked P.Kenyon and the team's billionaire owner R.Abramovich not to remain silent. The club's director addressed this request.

In a press statement, P.Kenyon writes: "The ongoing unprecedented speculation about Ranieri's future, as well as linking other coaches to the club, certainly does not help the team approaching very important matches. We will not contribute to these speculations by responding and we want to reiterate that C.Ranieri's contract is valid for more than three years. We are currently very satisfied with the team's results. Second place in the Premier League, but the chance to reach the Champions League semifinals is great. It's very good that we work all together and side by side. Working like this, we can fight for glory at the highest level."

C.Ranieri previously stated: "I want to say that the club should confirm that all those press speculations are nonsense. Not for me, but for the players because of all their efforts. I can't understand why these speculations arise when we are second in the Premier League and in the Champions League quarterfinals. Why? They want to demolish not Ranieri, but the whole season. I think club leaders should do something to defend the coach and the players."
