Diego Simeone's coached team will once again meet with perhaps its biggest tormentor - Cristiano Ronaldo.
This evening Madrid's 'Atletico' will host Turin's 'Juventus' team. Last season, these teams fought for a spot in the Champions League quarterfinals.
'Atletico' won the first match at home, but in Turin they felt the strength of C. Ronaldo - his 'hat-trick' determined the elimination of 'rojiblancos' from the tournament.
Speaking to the media before the match, Diego Simeone did not spare praise for the well-known opponent.
"It's hard to prepare for a duel against such a player," - said the Argentine. - "He's a beast when it comes to goals and offensive play."
"He has incredible statistics and is always dangerous in the penalty area. It's hard to control such a player, he has everything. We have to endure a lot to win, but next time that's not enough and we still lose," - continued D. Simeone.
'Atletico' has been considered one of the favorites to win the Champions League for several years now. D. Simeone himself is not swayed by such talk.
"I work day in and day out, while others are busy with betting offices and journalists who create the lists of favorites," - said the coach.
"Football will always remain an unpredictable game. Look at what 'Ajax' did last season, or what we did in 2014 when we reached the final. The teams least expected to win do so. In the Champions League, anything can happen to anyone.
"Every year we try to adapt to the tournament, but words remain just words - the best experience comes from mistakes and good decisions," - concluded D. Simeone.
