The 2018-19 season clearly showed that Madrid's "Real" team lacked their star Cristiano Ronaldo from previous years, but the Portuguese's statistics also illustrate impressive numbers.
C. Ronaldo in his debut season with Turin's "Juventus" won the "Serie A" title, but he did not become the top scorer of the championship - he was surpassed by 36-year-old Fabio Quagliarella with 26 goals.
The Italian was not the only player who left Portugal behind - Duvan Zapata (23) and Krzystof Piatek (22) scored more goals than him. C. Ronaldo himself scored 21 goals in 31 matches.
Throughout this season, playing in the UEFA Champions League and other tournaments, C. Ronaldo scored 28 goals with "Juventus".
This is the first time in ten years that the star of the Portuguese national team failed to score at least 30 goals in a season. From his arrival until last summer at Madrid's "Real" club, C. Ronaldo surpassed that goal mark every season.
Last year, he scored 44 times with the "white" team. This is almost half as many goals as he scored this year with "Juventus".
It can be concluded that both Madrid's "Real" club and C. Ronaldo himself missed each other this season.
