C. Ronaldo Forgives Opponent After Taking a Hit from Edimaras

On Saturday, during the Spanish "Primera" league match, Madrid's "Real" superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, without warning, nudged a "Cordoba" defender and received a red card. The "Primera" disciplinary committee usually imposes at least a three-match suspension in such cases, but the affected Edimar asked for leniency for his aggressor.

As goal.com writes, the referee did not specify in the match report that C.Ronaldo's card was given for "violent conduct," so the "Real" leader will most likely just face a one-match suspension. However, Edimar still appealed to the Disciplinary Committee.

"I forgive Cristiano Ronaldo, I don't see it as a big deal. It definitely wasn't extremely aggressive, he just tapped me on the leg and mouth, nothing more. I want to say that sometimes these things happen on the football field.

He should just face a normal suspension. I don't want to cause him trouble and I hope he continues to be the best in the world," Edimar told the newspaper AS.
