Thursday evening saw the second and final part of Cristiano Ronaldo's interview with well-known English journalist Piers Morgan.
The 37-year-old Portuguese talked about his latest World Cup, offers from other teams, and his longtime rival - Lionel Messi.
"He is an amazing player, he is a wizard, top level. I have shared the stage with him for 16 years. Imagine 16 years. I have good relations with him," Ronaldo said about his rival.
"Messi is like a teammate. He is a man whom I greatly respect because he speaks well of me. Even his wife and my girlfriend, they respect each other, both are from Argentina. What more can I say about Messi? He is a great man who has done many good things in football."
About the World Cup, Ronaldo said: "Would I retire immediately if Portugal won the World Cup? Yes, I would. 100 percent.
Among the favorites to win the World Cup are France, Spain, Argentina, Germany, Brazil, and England also have similar chances to win the tournament as Portugal,"
P. Morgan asked the Portuguese about a scenario where his representative Portugal would meet Lionel Messi's team Argentina in the final, these two forwards would each score two goals, and in extra time another, third goal by Ronaldo would secure the victory.
"That would be a great scenario. However, to be honest, I don't care who scores, as long as Portugal wins the World Cup, even the goalkeeper could score," Ronaldo replied to such a scenario.
About "Arsenal": "I would most like Manchester United to win the Premier League, and if not, then Arsenal. This is a team whose game I like to watch. I like their coach, I think they have a good team.
About the offer from Saudi Arabia: "Yes, that was true. As for what the media says, it is nonsense that no one wants me. It is not true, but they keep repeating that no one wants Cristiano."
About the incident with "Tottenham": "I apologized to my teammates for leaving the stadium early, I regretted it. My teammates knew how I felt, I didn't want to step onto the field at that time."
About the temporary suspension: "I was very, very disappointed with Manchester United's communication. Honestly, I never had any problems with any club or any coach. But they suspended me for three days, it was very painful.
"I remember coming home, my son saw me and asked: 'Dad, won't you play in the match? I replied that I wouldn't because the club punished me for three days. He said: 'How can they punish you when you are the best player in the world?' Ronaldo recounted.
