Madrid's "Real" forward Cristiano Ronaldo sees the constant competition with Barcelona's representative Lionel Messi as a positive thing.
These two footballers have been constantly compared for over five years, and the debate over who is the best in the world seems to be endless.
As of 2014, Ronaldo is currently ahead. He managed to triumph in the UEFA Champions League, win the Spanish King's and UEFA Super Cups. In addition, the Portuguese also won two individual awards: the Golden Ball and the Golden Boot.
"This is part of my life," Ronaldo said to World Soccer, when asked about the competition between him and Messi. "It's normal for people to compare us. I'm used to it. It was happening to me even when I played for Manchester United, so I know how to react to that."
"We are colleagues in football. Off the field, Messi and I are not friends, but it's the same with other players. It's good, positive competition."
Ronaldo also mentioned that the past 12 months were the best in his career in terms of awards. However, the Portuguese does not believe that he only demonstrated such a game during that period. According to the forward, he has been playing at the highest level for 6-7 years now.
