The evergreen 35-year-old Portuguese was recognized as the best football player of the 21st century. "This is a huge honor," said the star of the Italian team while receiving the award. C. Ronaldo also surpassed Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, and Mohamed Salah who were nominated in the same category. The best football player of the year laureate became Robert Lewandowski shining in Bayern Munich. The coach of the year was recognized as the strategist of the Bavarian team, Hans-Dieter Flick.
