C. Ronaldo's farewell letter: "Leaving, but I will never lose touch with this club"

On Tuesday, the transfer window was shaken by the most unexpected news of this summer - Madrid's "Real" agreed to sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin's "Juventus" for 105 million euros.

C. Ronaldo left Madrid after nine historic years - with this club, the Portuguese player won 16 trophies, scored 450 goals, and made history.

"Real" shared a farewell letter from the Portuguese on their official website, where he bids farewell to the club and fans:

"All these years in the 'Real' team and in the city of Madrid were probably the best of my life. I feel only immense gratitude to this club, its fans, and the city. I can only thank them all for the love I received over the past nine years.

However, I think it is time to start a new stage in my career. This was the reason why I asked the club to let me leave. In this way, I want to ask for the understanding of all my fans.

It was nine wonderful years. The whole time was exciting, but at the same time difficult, because the goals of this club are the highest. I will never forget those years when I enjoyed playing football in this city and club.

I had incredible teammates on and off the field. I always felt a warm connection with the amazing club fans - together we managed to win three Champions League trophies in a row and four in five years. I am extremely happy that I had the opportunity to win four 'Golden Balls' and three 'Golden Boots' while playing here.

"Real" conquered my heart - as well as my family's. For this reason, I would most like to thank the entire club community: thank you loyal fans, thank you to the president, management, colleagues, coaches, doctors, and amazing staff.

"I experienced many new things here and realized that it's time to start a new chapter. I leave, but these colors, this emblem, and this stadium will always be a part of my life, wherever I may be. I said it for the first time when I arrived here nine years ago, and I say it now: 'Hala Madrid!'"
