Dutch football legend Clarence Seedorf believes that Madrid's "Real" should overcome Amsterdam's "Ajax" barrier in the UEFA Champions League tournament.
For the third time in a row, the European champion will travel to Amsterdam to face "Ajax" on Wednesday. After the draw, doubts were seriously raised about Real's chances, but recently the Madrid team has regained optimal form and has now become the favorite of the tie.
"Madrid's Real" is the favorite. They defend the title and have the most experience in the Champions League tournament. I'm not saying they will win 100 percent, but in this tournament this club is always special," said the former defenders of both clubs.
When asked about potential tournament winners, C. Seedorf did not want to make premature predictions: "This season is exceptional, so I think it's a bit early to make predictions.
It might happen that without playing a good first half, the second half and the performance in the Champions League will already be over for the team. Looking at the past year, one of my favorites would be "Liverpool". Despite their performance in the group stage, they are playing a special football in the Premier League.
"Juventus" also has all the chances to reach the final, as well as many other teams, which have good chances - "Atletico", PSG, "Bayern", "Barca" and "Man City". All these clubs can fight for trophies."
The Champions League quarterfinal stage will start tomorrow evening.
