On Thursday, another friendly match was played at "Wembley" stadium. Fans gathered in London to see their national team for the last time before the start of the 2016 European Championship.
The English team, coached by Roy Hodgson, faced Portugal. In a tight match, Chris Smalling's goal at the end of the game determined the victory against the Portuguese team that played without Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the 35th minute, the visitors were reduced to ten players when defender Bruno Alves was shown a red card for a dangerous foul on Harry Kane.
Throughout the game, the English team seemed to have the upper hand, but they did not have many dangerous opportunities. In the 86th minute, C. Smalling scored with a header after a cross from Raheem Sterling.
England played three friendly matches in preparation for the European Championship and celebrated victories in all of them.
