CAF rejected Morocco's request to postpone the Nations Cup.

African Football Confederation (CAF) did not satisfy the request of the Moroccan government to postpone the Nations Cup due to the raging Ebola virus in the continent.

The international tournament held every two years in the North-West African country must take place in January and February of 2015.

Previously there was dissatisfaction regarding the qualifying matches against countries where the virus has already spread. Although Morocco has not yet registered any infected individuals, for security reasons they want the tournament to be postponed to a later date.

CAF, however, is not inclined to postpone the Nations Cup as the qualifying matches for 15 slots are already underway. Further discussions on this matter will take place in November. A meeting of the African Football Confederation Board will be held on the second day of the month, and the day after that, discussions are scheduled with Moroccan representatives in Rabat.

The current Ebola epidemic is the largest in history and has already claimed over 4000 lives.
