After U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to impose huge tariffs on most countries worldwide, fans began to wonder how this would affect football.

BBC spoke with finance expert Kieran Maguire, who assessed how much the price of popular jerseys from famous foreign clubs would increase in the U.S.

"Currently, the production cost of a jersey that costs 100 U.S. dollars was about 12–15 U.S. dollars in Asia.

So, even if a 40 percent tariff applies when goods are imported into the country, the cost of upper wear will only rise slightly – about 4 U.S. dollars.

Now buyers are already paying a huge price – manufacturers will have to account for this,” K. Maguire assured.
